On Duty Attendance

We are on duty until you say I do.

For most of the history of formal clothing, a man dressing for something like this had help. The clothes have not gotten any simpler. The help went away.

So a man now puts on the most formal thing he will ever wear alone, in a hotel room, with nobody present who has seen it done, twenty minutes before the most photographed hour of his life.

The problem

What Actually Goes Wrong

Vents still basted shut. A mill label still stitched to a cuff. Studs run in the wrong order. A cummerbund worn upside down. A belt through the loops of trousers that should not have either. A bow tie that has not been pressed since the last time it was worn.

Each is thirty seconds of work. Most go unnoticed in the room. The photographs are less forgiving.

None of it is a tailoring problem. All of it is permanent.

The service

What We Do

We arrive before you dress and stay until you are ready to walk into the room.

We press what needs pressing, tie what needs tying, pin what needs pinning, and put you in front of the camera with everything where it should be. Where there is a group, we make the group read as one considered thing rather than eight men who each got dressed alone.

We do this only for clients we dressed. We drafted the pattern and cut the cloth, so we know how every piece is meant to sit and we can put it right in the ten minutes you actually have.

It is also worth saying plainly: we are the person in the building who can tell the father of the groom to open his vents.

Weddings

Weddings

We are there while the party dresses, through the first look, and in the hallway before the doors open, straightening the last man in line.

Events

Galas, Ceremonies, and Everything Else Black Tie

Black tie is the easiest thing in menswear to get almost right, and the evenings it is worn are the ones that get photographed and written up. For galas, award ceremonies, swearing-in days, and anything where the pictures will outlast the evening, we come to you beforehand and see it finished properly.

By arrangement

Availability and Fees

Available only with a Tailored Man commission.

On Duty attendance begins at $3,000 and covers dressing through the ceremony, or through your departure for the event. Extended timelines, multiple locations, travel, and larger parties are quoted individually.
