A tuxedo is the one garment where fit is the whole point – and the one most men settle for off a rental rack. The Tailored Man has made custom tuxedos for Tysons Corner and Washington DC since 1969. Our showroom at 1750 Tysons Blvd, Suite 130 – in Tysons Corner near Tysons Galleria, with parking in the building – is where the region’s men get black tie built around their body, not a size chart.

What a Custom Tuxedo Costs
Custom tuxedos start at $1,095, built on our half-canvas floor – we never make a fused garment. Price scales with two choices: fabric, with premium cloth from Loro Piana, Holland & Sherry, Ermenegildo Zegna, Scabal, Dormeuil, and Stylbiella from $1,395; and construction, with full canvas +$200, fully handmade +$350, and our Presidential tier +$500–$750. Most formalwear clients land between $1,295 and $1,995.
Style Decisions We Walk Through Together
Peak, shawl, or notch lapel. Grosgrain or satin facing. One-button closure, jetted pockets, side tabs or braces. Midnight blue versus true black – midnight reads richer under evening light, which is why it’s the connoisseur’s choice for galas. We advise; you decide.
Where Tysons Wears Black Tie
Our clients wear these tuxedos to Kennedy Center galas, the Washington charity circuit, corporate award dinners, embassy receptions, and their own weddings. If you wear black tie more than once every few years, a tuxedo that’s actually yours pays for itself – see the honest math in our guide to tuxedo rental alternatives in DC, or explore our full formalwear collection.
Process and Turnaround
Your first appointment includes over two dozen measurements and the style conversation. Most custom tuxedos are ready for a first fitting in seven weeks. For a wedding or an event, plan on ordering about twelve weeks ahead. Hard date on the calendar? Tell us at the first fitting and we’ll plan backward from it.
