Chevy Chase has always understood the difference between buying a label and commissioning a garment. The Tailored Man has made custom clothing for clients on both sides of Western Avenue since 1969 – every suit fitted in person at our Tysons Corner showroom by a clothier who keeps your pattern on file for the next commission.
Getting Here from Chevy Chase
From Chevy Chase Circle or the Village it’s 20–25 minutes: Connecticut Avenue or Wisconsin Avenue to the Beltway, across the American Legion Bridge, and off at Route 123 into Tysons. Against rush hour it’s an easy run, and Saturday mornings are a Maryland-client favorite. We’re in the office tower at 1750 Tysons Blvd, Suite 130 – near Tysons Galleria, not inside it – with parking in the building.
Who We Serve in Chevy Chase
Partners at downtown firms who live north of the line, physicians on the Wisconsin Avenue medical corridor, retired diplomats and the gala circuit they never quite leave, and grooms marrying everywhere from the Chevy Chase Club to Middleburg. The Chevy Chase brief skews formal – gala season is real here – so a tuxedo conversation often follows the first suit. Our Black Tie Guide for Washington is the primer.
What We Make
Custom suits, with most clients landing between $1,295 and $1,995 (premium fabrics from $1,295; the Iniziare collection is the entry point at $895, half-canvas), custom dress shirts, tuxedos from $1,095, wedding attire, sport coats, trousers, and alterations. Also see our Bethesda page – many Chevy Chase clients combine the trip with errands there.
Construction and Fabrics
Half-canvas is our floor – we never build a fused suit. Full canvas (+$200), fully handmade (+$350), and our Presidential tier (+$500–$750) are upgrades. Cloth comes from Loro Piana, Holland & Sherry, Ermenegildo Zegna, Scabal, Dormeuil, Stylbiella, and more, chosen for your body and the season.
Turnaround
Most custom suits are ready for a first fitting in seven weeks. For a wedding or an event, plan on ordering about twelve weeks ahead.
