Nowhere in America does a suit work harder than on Capitol Hill – worn five days a week, on camera without warning, judged in a town that notices. The Tailored Man has dressed Hill offices, committee staff, and the advocacy world around them since 1969, every garment fitted in person at our Tysons Corner showroom.
Getting Here from the Hill
The Silver Line runs from Capitol South’s transfer points straight to Tysons Corner station, a short walk from our door – about 40 minutes seat-to-seat, no car needed. Driving, it’s 25–35 minutes out I-66 or the GW Parkway to Route 123, against traffic both ways for an after-work appointment. We’re at 1750 Tysons Blvd, Suite 130 – near Tysons Galleria, not inside it – with parking in the building.
Who We Serve on the Hill
Chiefs of staff and committee counsel who need a camera-ready rotation, lobbyists and association executives on the Pennsylvania Avenue corridor, journalists who cover the building, and staffers commissioning a first serious suit for a confirmation-season schedule. The Hill brief is specific: conservative cloth that reads authoritative on C-SPAN, a shoulder that holds through a fourteen-hour day, and trousers that survive marble. We’ve been filling it for five decades.
What We Make
Custom suits, with most clients landing between $1,295 and $1,995 (premium fabrics from $1,295; the Iniziare collection is the entry point at $895, half-canvas), custom dress shirts, tuxedos from $1,095 for the dinner circuit, wedding attire, sport coats, and alterations. Working downtown? Our Washington DC page has more, and our DC pricing guide breaks down what custom actually costs.
Construction and Fabrics
Half-canvas is our floor – we never build a fused suit. Full canvas (+$200), fully handmade (+$350), and our Presidential tier (+$500–$750) are upgrades. Cloth comes from Loro Piana, Holland & Sherry, Ermenegildo Zegna, Scabal, Dormeuil, Stylbiella, and more, chosen for your body, the cameras, and the season.
Turnaround
Most custom suits are ready for a first fitting in seven weeks. For a wedding or an event, plan on ordering about twelve weeks ahead. Recess is the smart time to start.
